Welcome to your first appointment

After the intake and all your questions are answered, It's time for your massage. Let's explain disrobing and draping. The first thing emphasized for having a good massage therapy session is that your comfort is always yours and your therapist's top priority. We always want to be conscious of and work within your comfort levels. When we say disrobe to your level of comfort, we truly mean your level of comfort. If you would prefer to leave keep your top, bottoms, or socks on during a session; that is your choice. You will never offend us and we understand how nagging discomforts can block the therapeutic benefits that we are trying to achieve.
From there, we'll explain getting on the table. Most sessions will start with you face down, underneath the top sheet. Your face should be comfortable in the cradle without your neck feeling stressed. Once everything is clear, your therapist will leave the room and you can take your time getting disrobed and situated under the top sheet. Feel free to place your arms wherever is most comfortable. Your therapist will always knock and ask if you are ready before coming into the room.
The final piece begins at the start of the session, proper draping. Draping techniques are how your massage therapist protects your modesty during a session. We always want you to feel secure that your spatial boundaries are being respected while on the table. As certified therapists we're trained in manipulating the top sheet so that we're only uncovering what we need. We understand the importance of tucking the sheet so your own weight is providing a sense of security and nothing will be shown on accident. We're always working with our clients and can drape more conservatively or can address a sensitive area like the gluteus muscles over the sheets or not at all. Everything that we work on is with our client's guidance and within their level of comfort.
